"The problem mainly arises when bright LEDbulbs are used in housings designed for halogen bulbs. The different beam patterns cause scattered and unfocused light that hits other drivers directly in their eyes."

Looking for any feedback on replacing the factory bulbs in my '73 Charger Rallye dash with the LED (BA9s) version. Has anyone done this? If so what brand did you use? Are they dimmable? Are you satisfied with the brighter look?
You can't beat Putco Plasma LEDbulbs.
Putco bulbs on the right.
I took down all my YouTube channel videos. But here's a link to one and where to get the bulbs.
I've had these for 10 years...
Are those housings still the factory silver paint inside?
I think that these types of bulbs....
Don't produce enough light, certainly not as much as an 1157. The aftermarket LED boards that fit into our housings must aim the bulbs straight toward the rear instead of in a 360 degree pattern...
Granted, it's the light switch most used indoors (turned on & off several times daily), but now both the CFL and LEDbulbs in the kitchen ceiling have both gone caput (the CFL first, the LED later). So much for advertised ten-year lifespans or whatever is claimed.
Karl, you must use an LED flasher with the LEDbulbs.
Here is the one I used.
I bought two of them, one for the turn signals and the other for the 4 ways.
Do NOT put LED "conversion bulbs" in an old school light assembly.
When you have a bulb, the light exits the bulb in a 360 degree field, and it bounces off the reflector in the light assembly. What you see from outside isn't the 3/4" light bulb...but the reflection of that bulb in the 20...
My '14 Grand Cherokee Summit came with factory HID projector beam headlights (D3S bulbs). After 110k miles...they were getting dim. The bulbs can build up a residue on the inside of the glass, from all the heat in the gasses inside the bulb. Think... smoke.
I put new HID bulbs in a couple weeks...
Replace your 1157 bulbs with 2357 bulbs, as the 2357 are brighter. Add some supplemental grounds to the sockets and be done. LED seems to cause more problems than it’s worth.
Not too many options for double contact double filament bulbs to make a mistake on this… the actual replacement bulbs are 1157… 5/21 watts configuration.
………………..
About LEDs bulbs. If using a direct replacement bulb, go for this kind of replacement
Because this kind looks awful on lense...
