If i end up having to buy a new wiper switch, i see they’re $1,000,000…. any suggestions to where to buy?

What i had apart, was the “cover”? Of what i thought was the park contacts? See picture, there were no gears in there, which is as strange to me since the inside had gear teeth around the entire perimeter?

Lol!!! That’s exactly what Ive been doing!!! It parks in same spot every time, with no arms on. Once wiper arms are installed…. Wipers drop to low onto cowl grill, and park 1/2 way up the glass….. and before im asked- yes… i installed arms in proper stopped position! Thanks for your input!!!

Pulled cover off and gently cleaned the contacts. Put back together, same thing, now parks in same spot. Next up - try again with wiper arms attached. Fingers crossed they don’t drop down onto cowl grill again

OK, loosened all screws couldn’t budge it so I took a screwdriver and started tapping one of the three bumps counterclockwise to get it close to the position that you have. See the picture below, that’s as far as I could get it to move. It would not go any further. Tighten the screws jumped...

After more searching, looks like it goes on car first, then outside window felt? Looks like it connects to drip rail trim? And if so, i should wait until vinyl roof gets installed?

Any pictures of the install?

Ok…. Is there a “ground terminal” on the switch? Or maybe the switch body gets grounded?

Where should the dash switch be grounded? Frame? Can i run a separate ground wire from some place on the switch to a known good ground ?

Just went back out to the car… i definitely have a 3 speed wiper, and all 3 speeds work as they should. I can shut off a number of times, and parks in same place each time…..if i put wiper blades on, goes bazurk! Starts out going further down then up about 1/2 way. Is there any chance with a...

I thought it was ok when I repeatedly turn the switch on and off, and it seemed to auto park in same spot… threw the arms on, turned on the switch- bam! Arms go “further down” onto the cowl grille and back up then i turned off and they stopped in middle of windshield! Cant trust it, gonna wreck...

For “To service the "park switch"”, does this require removing the motor?

So im having issues with the wiper motor that came on a car i bought that needed reassembly. Finally getting to the wipers…. They work fine, both speeds and off. I’ve tried without the arms on. But for some reason this motor has auto park and it never does in the same spot. After a quick picture...

I would tend to agree with that, however, motor has not run in the car, so im guessing the original owner left the seal off? Should i cut that plastic ring off for now? Any safety issues driving car like it is?

Are there any safety issues if i do not get to this right away? Should i just cut the nylon piece off? Did you see any issues with the angle of the steering column where it enters the steering box coupler? Thanks again

68 Charger-See picture… what is this loose plastic ring? Where does it belong? And looking closely at the steering coupler area, as that slight angle (not straight) should be a concern? Thanks
