    HI, I never said it was leaking??? it does not leak any coolant .. and the flow is good/great ... Only time it lost coolant was when it was boiling but only lose a small amount overflow tank caught the majority of it all and as it cooled is was sucked back in..

    HI, Talked with my Machinist today.. about the over heating.. He said nothing we/he did would have caused the extrema overheating. it might have caused a small amount of heat but not enough to cause it to boil over.. Most likely the cause is the miss placement of the head gaskets or stuck...

    HI, MY BAD...... Lets forget the need for a shroud... I've put 50,000+ miles as a daily driver on the rebuild without a shroud and it never even reached the 1/2 way on the gauge that whole time, until this cam change and head rebuild.. So I must have put the head gaskets on upside down.. Thanks...

    HI, Mine is a SB. 318 Thermostat is/was new but was a cheap brand. Maybe I should change that to a Stant.. Are the Head gaskets reversible on the Small blocks? I think I looked at them and FIRC they looked the same on both halfs of a gasket. I think I have the old gaskets I'll look

    HI, I just had a nightmare over night.. I did have the heads done as well as changing the cam.. Could I have installed the head gaskets upside down?????? Some car guy... I'll put a timing light on it today. I didn't do any jetting change. carb is a 450 QF.

I've owned it for almost 10 years got almost 50T on the rebuild, it just had a bad timing gear (plastic factory junk) but I rebuilt it anyway.. It only has 92,000 on the meter.. When I rebuilt there was NO junk or goop in the heads...

    HI NO AC. So no shroud then.. As for timing. Not sure? I'll put an light on it tomorrow . When I installed the cam I timed it by vacuum .. got max vacuum and backed it off 2 ".. It runs real strong no missing or pinging at WOT to shift point. its running about 16"vacuum.

    HI, That's what I'm thinking if I rotate the crank one more time and re drop the distributor in I should be Back to the proper TDC..??? Duh....Yeah .. the crank turns twice to one of the cam.. so one more turn should put it right??
