Just a thought but on motors with really aggressive flanks I would put the lifters in the 3 jaw Chuck on the lathe. I would use a very sharp tip and scribe a .005 deep line from the oil supply band down the side of the lifter to the face, don’t know if it helped but those big 430 horse 427 cams...

Been running the same stock Mopar factory mini in my racecar for 13 years. Cranks perfect at 34 degrees fixed timing with 15.1-1 compression. The header sets about 1/8" away from the case. Doug
