1999 Dodge Dakota starter is cheap and does the job. v6 or V8.. Just dont get one for a 4cyl truck.

I was able to slice right through a belt at the junkyard using what people now call a "box cutter". We called it a utility knife on the job. I'd guess that emergency response workers have these too.

If you look closely at the webbing, it is amazing how many strands and how tightly woven. BTW- I just examined the "loops" on my wife's hyundai- They are NOT breakaway or lengtheners. Just a well stitched loop that's not part of the main belt. Maybe so an EMT can grab and pull away in order...

There's 2 different hoods lol. The quarters have the old time charm of just being hand crafted

Well I have made no actual progress on the project except to collect parts. Been sorting and cleaning up my parts pile. Popped the lid on this tote full of carbs and alternators. This should be fun…..
