I had the same problem with the bezel for my ignition switch in my 68 Coronet. No matter how hard I pushed from behind the dash, there weren't enough threads exposed to tighten. Maybe remove some of the material from inside the hole??... Sorry Bryan, that's all I can think of.

I've only done sheet metal repair; never bondo. Not that the guys that use bondo are doing it wrong - just different. The main thing is my cars will never see road salt again! Here on the North Coast THAT is the best preservative of all.
