This one time, at drag camp.... I clamped the fronts of my leaf springs. :)
Don't know if it helped much.... but I did run a 13.5 in my GTX ....4-speed 440. Only had 8-pounds in the Hoosiers..... that was a lesson rectified quickly. About as loose in the rear end as a Kardashian...
Just make your cruise RPM above 2800.
Don't put 2.76 behind that converter. I bought a car like that and it was a foolish combination.
Put 3.23's behind it and it is very nice now. And the converter is happier and doesn't slip so much below the stall speed because the RPM comes up so much faster.
Depends on the convertor, some are pretty tight accept at WOT, others are soft & seem to be slipping at any throttle when below the threshold... With a cooler & running on flat ground you would probably be fine.... Climbing a grade? Pull the trans down into second gear, it'll get the RPM's up to...
Perfect car driving weather here today so had to take the old thing out. I braved North Bay Area highways 12, 80, 780, a narrow country road then 680 & 12 again.
I went to Port Costa & had lunch at the Bull Valley Roadhouse .
I wasn't hungry enough to enjoy their rib-eye so had fresh...
The screw holes on the backside of the box lids, and on some of the divider, have the same bolt pattern as the battery chargers.
I'd recommend watching youtube for toolbox hacks. Plenty of great ides for organizing
I went down to Maryland International Raceway this weekend for the Mopar Eastern Classic and Modern Street Hemi Shootout.
The car was amazing and just kept repeating no matter how I tried to screw it up.
I got down to 6 cars on Friday and just got beat by a better driver. He put a .016 package...
I keep wanting to do some longer highway trips in my Belvedere. I have 3.23's which aren't terrible but though maybe 2.76's would be better for a long trip. My concern is my 2800 RPM stall, is this just going to make a ton of heat? I had thoughts on a Gearvendor OD but the same question remains.
