    Crower flat tappet lifter

Is it a MP cam? Looks like it. 280* adv, 0.480" valve lift, 0.316" lobe lift. That is a very mild cam, even on a 842 Chev lifter. Crane's most aggressive 842 lobes have 0.328" lobe lift for 238 @ 050. Your cam has only 316 lift & is used with the bigger 904 lifter. Bottom line: no problem using...

Rear shoulder belts in a 1970 Charger

The mounting face of the retractor has a locating peg with the mounting hole below. Rich tested how far the retractor can be out of plumb before the belt won't roll out. Straight up and down like this, no problem. About 10 degrees or so, it was starting to either spin freely or lock. I...

    D-O-N-E (An Ed Mini-Story)

I thought the story was going to go more like “The car is finally D.O. **** what’s that sound?”

Rear shoulder belts in a 1970 Charger

That right side mounting base was welded and holes were punched so I can plug weld it to the car. I do need to get the retractors so I can establish the exact mounting position. Rich sent me the measurements so I knew the vertical height these brackets need to be. I'll drill holes and weld a...

    Keystone Klassic wheel question

Cragars, Keystone, the like, have a steel plug, called a clip iirc, embedded in the end of each spoke, which is welded to the steel hoop.

Can the torsion bar go in wrong?

Not nearly as gnarly as what happened to you but a long time ago a defective cutoff wheel went thru the skin on my knuckle to the bone. I didn’t have insurance so I butterfly’d it closed myself. For the longest time, like a year or so, it was stiff, especially in the morning. There is still a...

    Turquoise engine enamel

Mopar rattle can on one engine, didn't hold up very well. Bill Hersch in a can, brushed on, it's iron clad. Both prepped the same, degrease, hit it with a map gas torch, scrubbed it down. Bill Hersch is a shade lighter, looks way better, imo. I just pulled out the old Bill Hersch can...

What do you think of these rims on a Charger?

No offense but..... I don't like any of those wheels. This is just my opinion so don't get pissed at me! That 'Cuda looks great with the wheels partly because I personally see the "Cuda as a car ripe for a modern wheel design. The big 5 spoke design reminds me of the IROC wheels that came on the...

Is 4.5 months prior to car production considered date code correct for engine block?

Are we talking casting date or stamped assembly date? If someone cares, not me, and an engine has a casting date before, and an assembly date after, does the amount of whining that it's not 'date coded' go up exponentially? And before/after what, the Scheduled Production Date or the unknown...
