Very efficient motor. I pulled 8 degrees of timing to try to keep it at 9.50 for index class. I now have 17° total timing and it still ran 9.45... Pretty happy with this setup...

I was at a heavy duty truck alignment shop and grabbed a couple of used alignment shims that were in the scrap bin. The 71 Demon I had as a kid had a similar vibration that you describe you’re experiencing. Getting the angle right took care of of it.

Cool. i ordered another set of shims that will bring mine down 3.. will put it at 2 down which should be right (this time)... :)

I believe I put a shim in the rear to bring the pinion down 2 degrees

I have two build sheets. First is a 1969 318 engine. Last 6 of vin 296917. Next a 1973 318 engine. Last six of vin 260?57 Sorry this sheet is a little rough. Looks like A5 color code which is Dark Silver I believe.
