Question about round back single field alternator

I'll probably go that route and take the alternator off the car and put this one on to see if it works tomorrow. Nothing wrong with the one on it now. Just got this as a spare.

    They must be crazy....

I don’t think they are making the 855 anymore. And Richmond Doug Nash is long gone

I know this sounds stupid, but with the engine off my car is up. The wheels are off. Everything is free to move and it’s very stiff turning. Am I just imagining this because the power steering pump isn’t helping. I recall it moving freely when the wheels are off the ground even with the engine off.

I hope it doesn't smell as rancid as the penetrant! That damned smell is almost as bad as limited slip additive!!

WTB I am in the beginning stage of looking for a 1968 Superbee to purchase.

I just spoke with a guy named Brad from Signature Auto Gallery Home He is the owner and he was extremely accommodating. When I initially called him, he was in a noisy place and asked if he could return my call in 30 minutes to an hour which he did. He took notes on what I am looking for and...

    Is your job boring?

Never bored. Every day different, never knew exactly what would happen next. Troubleshooting. Politics crept in near the end along with Covid panic.

    Air Grabber

The outside duct pieces are different between an Air Grabber and a Ramcharger. Ramchargers have the inlet at the top to correspond with the holes in the hood. Air Grabbers have a horizontal opening along the outside edge to mate up with the hood inserts.

Ticking noise - think it's the fuel pump - thoughts?

Guys, that just might be it, thanks. 68 SS, sorry I posted before I saw your post. I took the hose, as you suggested, and touched it to different areas along the exhaust manifold where it met the head. Sure enough i heard silence on all points but cyl 2; a swooshing noise and the tapping. I...

    What's your favorite 50-year-old car?

I hate to say it but the most impressive 1973 would just have to be the SD T/A, great looks, great handling for the time and HP that was just as usable as a 66-71 Street Hemi really. 73 still had the cooler small rear window too.

    Cowboy stuff for non-cowboys.

Driving through the Midwest, you'll sometimes see real cowboys. They're the 15-18 year-old kids wearing a Future Farmers of America blue jacket or a letterman's jacket with a rodeo sports patch. Their jeans are about 4" too long in the inseam, which makes them very high-waisted. Plus a big assed...
