Basic idea of the headlight relay kit is to provide a higher voltage to the OE incadescent lights for increased brightness.
For me, and my 70RR I upgraded to LED headlights which draw about 70% less current than incadescents..
Just my $0.02...
Plenty of times the fix was easy or at least easier than thought. Nice as it sort of balances out those times when it wasn’t. A more recent hassle was one of the indicator lights on a light bar in my modified console burned out. Well, getting to the housing is a supreme bitch, but figured it...
That appears to be effective and likely very friendly to other drivers. Thankyou.
I a number of years ago purchased and installed this 5x7 Grote LED headlight in our truck fleet. They were priced higher years ago.
I was very impressed with the light output and it's beam control. I was...
HI,
My backup lights suck and I can't event tell when they are on when backing up at night.. I've even gotten some LED i thought as they said (off road use only) but even those are not what I thought they would be.. still can tell they are on??
Does anyone recommend a bulb .. its for a 1975...
I have full chingchong no name brand LED's from Amazon everywhere in my Satellite, except headlights. Took an LED flasher module to correct the hyper flash, same as you, but I have added no resistors to make these work. They are nice and bright and park lights/brake lights work as they should...
I still use C9 incandescents for my outside Christmas lights because I like their warm glow a lot better than LED. We do use LED on the tree and I like them there. Yes, I do see an increase in my electric bill when we put the outside lights up, but it's only about a 5-6% increase for a month so...
Anyone ever have an interior courtesy light go out and upon replacing the bulb it doesn’t work and trying another bulb in case that new one might be bad and still doesn’t work? Ok, no kiddin. Bad socket or wiring connections to it right? It is one of those teeny bulbs inset into a molded...
Looks like you have the added complexity of AC. I on the other hand am starting to suspect hack wiring. OP put in ledlights and I think he chopped where he shouldn't have. Hopefully find out more tomorrow. The signals that leave the relay arent the same as what arrives at the motor.
My buddies work requires him and several other guys to come in one weekend a year on Saturday and Sunday to change every LED light bulb within the business. The warehouse, offices, desk lights, storage rooms, bathrooms etc. Weather they need it or not, every bulb. Apparently, it is cheaper to do...
You definitely need to run an LED flasher.
I used this one from Amazon.
And you will need 2 of them as there is a separate flasher for the 4 ways or hazard lights.
Thanks. The shop put in the LED flasher at the brake pedal for the 4 ways, but missed the turn signal flasher at the ashtray, so the stock flasher was left there. They installed LEDs-all the way around except the front turn signal, because when they put those in they didn’t flash. With...
That's crazy.
I bought the cheapest, most lumens per dollar fixtures I could find ($14-$24 Rural King brand) for my shop.
Not quite a dozen.
I've lost exactly one since 2017.
As an add-on.... in the days of incandescent traffic lights - not so many years ago, the lams used (at least here in NZ) were what is known as 'Rough Service' lamps....meaning that the rated voltage was around 10% higher than normal.
Typically, the lamps were rated at 260 Volts instead of...
WOW! I was looking at recent posts today, and this is all amazing! Thanks for sharing and glad the deer incident was not fatal for anyone (I guess those sound buzzers don't work?), but hope you are mended more soon. Your build looks a lot like mine ('71 SE with B5 in interior, engine bay, and...
Is there any special modifications required to get the LEDlights to work with our cars? I seem to recall when LED headlights first came out that some additional wiring upgrades were required.
A little LED vs incandescent comparison.
I’ve only changed the side markers to led, running lights haven’t been yet, more visibility equals more safety
Yup. Amazon generic LED equivalents to original "158" bulbs. Got a 20pk for $13. Yes they will dim, but not manufacturer specified. Many choices on Amazon. I have replaced most of the lighting on the Satellite with LED bulbs over time including front markers, tail lights, interior... left the...
