Yesterday, after the car was cold, started it and went from D to R a few times and no noise. After I got home and the car was warm, it would rattle/grumble in R. It almost sounds like the exhaust could be hitting. But wouldn't it also rattle in drive?
I need to get under it tomorrow to swap out...

I try to set ignition timing at 34 degrees at around 3,000 rpm., with vacuum advance plugged. Initial timing just lands where it does. At cruise, under little load, the engine can take more timing, to maximize fuel economy. As load is applied, by pressing on the gas pedal, the vacuum goes away...
Yes there is a seal on the filler neck. When I install my new tank I already installed the filler neck. I did put a little grease on the seal to help get the tank installed. I was a PITA to get it back in. I was on the ground installing it,no lift.
Removed my tank today…
Disconnected battery
Jacked up on frame with jackstands
Removed sender wire
Cut power & ground wires (in-tank pump)
Removed output fuel hose
Floor jack under tank
Removed both straps
Lowered tank about 4-6 inches, wiggled tank free from filler pipe

I second the opinion on Holley Retrobrights. Bought em for my 66 Charger. Plug n Play, no modification electrically or mechanically. You can also pick what color temperature you prefer. They work great, not cheap but you get what you pay for..
