    Working on a 1969 Roadrunner

Welcome to FBBO from NorCal Sierras IIRC less HP ratings, equipped with an A/C, 'it was pricey too' especially on a $3,000 base car I believe it was also 330hp (or was it only 300hp ?) vs reg 335hp RR 383 engine different cam & carb IIRC & no Airgrabber option & under-hood pinning/ducting...

Ticking noise - think it's the fuel pump - thoughts?

I am following this closely, as my 318 has a ticking sound. My original chain had a lot of slack at 60,000. The fibre cam gear scared me more. I have all new parts in my 318. Except the pistons and crank. I have the old lifters to do some tests. One is soft. I suspect a new lifter has the same...

    Polishing Glass?

Recently restored a pair of headlamp lenses that were cloudy and slightly pitted. Spent 6 to 8 hours with the correct tools and was about 85% successful. Be careful not to overheat the glass!!! If it is under tension in it's frame it is likely to crack from excessive heat. Don't know what you...

    Snow tonight?

You know I like the cold. Isn't that the idea in the Disney movie Frozen? Sorry, I have a daughter that watched Disney all the time. I mean, I wish for 55 degrees year-round but give me cold over too much heat. “Det finnes ikke dårlig vær, bare dårlige klær”

    Polishing Glass?

You've got to compare the time and cost of materials and tools, to just buying a new glass. The guy doing the Superbird glass had 5 hrs. and who no's how much he had in cost for all those sanding pads and the polish. Might be a coin flip as to what to do.

    66 Plymouth HP2

forget the cost of the engine rebuild, 4 grand won't even come close to covering the cost of the "little things" it will no doubt need; gas tank, tires, brakes, radiator recore (if needed), hoses, belts, wires, water pump, fuel pump, clutch, shocks, rebuilding of front suspension, etc.

Ticking noise - think it's the fuel pump - thoughts?

Stock are studs. Someone put bolts in. In any event, drain the coolant.

WTB 1972 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus hood release cable or dash mounting bracket

There you go and be surprised at the reproduction they do. I personally think it’s the new wave of doing things

    66 Plymouth HP2

If it is original paint and the interior looks as good, $5000 and a good detailing would have you guys gushing over the survivor HP2 car. Not every car deserves or needs a nut and bolt restoration. Trying to help the new member, I asked if the paint was original. If so, it might be polished...

For those of you that are familiar with Gimli Motorsports Park

Thanks....I'll have to do some tree shaking and see if DRAM (Drag racing association of Manitoba) has more news etc. I haven't done any of that yet! It's just that over the years the Gimli Dragstrip was like a bouncing ball when it came to owners ... For the last number of years it was stable...

    Hemi valve lash

Not horrible on the right side but at best will be a warm setting, not hot. Messy method would be to pull the right valvecover, put a cardboard U-dam on the bottom, install tubes and sparkplugs and run it a bit. I would just experiment with cold lash instead I think. I never had problems over...

    Brass oil pressure line secure

You could do that with any copper line and brass fittings if wanted, but there is really no need as good compression fittings seal up good and normally don't leak. Somebodies just trying to make extra $ as the Summit kit has 6 Ft of line in it too, which you can cut to the right length and...

    66 Plymouth HP2

Yup: It would take quite a bit of cash to get the subject project hardtop up to the condition of your convertible. Much more than what it seems like it would. A lot of us that have built several cars know that it adds up in a hurry. Think radiator, carbs, exhaust, clutch system to name a few...
