Yep, most I have seen over the years are/were "stick ons", but an inordinate amount were also 'rivet' ons... :( The worst of the lot. OP's gorgeous car's mouldings sure look nice and straight for a sticky... hope they are tho if he wants em gone.

I didn't read all these posts , but you could just put the ext. pump on the inside of the frame around the rear spring mounting point , got it that way on my fuel inj. 505'' barracuda , have always ran ext. pumps on all 4 of my hot rods , in basically the same area , depending on the body style...

Good luck: I agree with masking tape but getting the exact location won't be easy. If I still had mine I would make a tracing on thin paper with a pencil rubbing of the body lines and send it to you.
It was the distributor. The innards were so stiff nothing was working. I installed a brand new coil prior. Car runs really good now. Only issue I am concerned about now is the thrum sound. Just sort of a constant thrum thrum thrum I used to think was maybe buffeting in the air grabber hood but...
Welcome: I like these trucks. Be happy it doesn't have the factory power assist steering, that is a real bear to find parts for and not that great of a system in the end. Trucks were just a tool back then too and run into the ground so finding good used isn't easy either.
probly not your problem , but we had a tractor with a 6 cyl Chrysler engine in it that did that every time it got under a load , turned out to be the coil breaking down under load ....
