I had to rewatch Deepwater Horizon to figure it out. First some oil well facts.
I forgot how accurate this movie is. No fake company names. Everything sounds accurate to me. There's two sets of pipes when they finish a well. An inner and outer. The casing is the bigger (outer) When they are...
i have a 74 charger with a 440 installed by a previous owner and am curious about what the engine originally came from. I suspect it to be a motor home or truck engine but cant be sure. i do know by the casting date that it was cast in 10-23 1970 but the stamped id numbers by the oil pan under...
My 63 max wedge clone has the over the counter Mopar electronic distributor that has the mechanical tach drive, no vac advance. The ignition box is a light gold color. I currently have an Accel 8140 coil. Wanting to replace the coil. What should I get? It's in a laying horizontal position, I was...
It may not be as bad as you think. I (and my cronies) recently started 5 old Mopars (2 Challengers and 3 Road Runners) that hadn't been started in over 25 years. It's amazing how few of problems we had. It was fun. I'm not going to say what we did is right, I'm just telling you what we did. The...
Just went out and the screwdriver trick worked. Snagged it with my long nose vice grips. I know it turned a bit getting it out so not sure what that did to the oil pump position. Wife is looking over my shoulder to take her to dinner so back at it tomorrow. Happy wife, happy life.
I've re-read your post because I couldn't initially figure out what you're asking. But I think you're trying to determine whether the oil should shoot out with pressure in a stream as opposed to simply "flow".
Let's first discuss the rockers themselves. HS rockers, compared to other brands, are...
I currently have a fast turn ratio pitman arm on my 73 Charger there is a idler arm on it, how ever the center link is real close to the oil pan on the idler arm side. But has sufficient clearance on on the pitman arm side. I am not sure if the idler arm is the matched arm for the fast turn...
That Summit Racing 6 qt B-body (& E body IIRC) Hemi/B/RB oil pan
you can get either a 3/8" or a 1/2" pick up for it,
it's for all the above BB Hemi & Wedges & can be used on all the above
not sure the same number as listed above, but should work
may want to check your drag link see if it will...
My new strange S60 had a whine for the first 500miles after a couple of oil changes it disappeared what gear sets are they using i found Yukon tend to be noisy.
For oil pumps,
High Volume = taller gear rotors
High Pressure = stronger relief spring
A relief spring doesn't even come into play until you hit the relief pressure. So at 20 PSI it doesn't matter what spring you have, the pump is putting out max pressure/volume regardless. With taller rotors...
This is a OEM 1970's Twist On Oil Filler Cap. It is original,
not a china knockoff, and is in decent condition, just needs a
cleanup and repaint. I can no longer remember for sure what engine
this came off of, but I believe it will work on small and big blocks.
$15.00. Local pickup, or buyer...
the E.P.A has killed oil they have taken out the additives that help keep our engines running i use the green oil only for 39 years it has the most zinc that can be used . i have always ran 20w-50 oil also as the oil has more cushion as a heavy oil. now days it is a semi synthetic blend and i...
I'll assume the following; The cam bearing holes are lined up so oil is getting to the shafts. The shafts are installed with the oil holes down in the correct location. The adjuster ball/pushrod cup were the same size. The adjustment/pushrod length is correct allowing the adjuster 2 threads out...
This is what I was thinking, but now that I have my first trap door pan, I don't know how the oil around the pick up may act under hard acceleration. The car carries the wheels up about a whole foot, and then comes down quick, so oil is not always out back.
I mean, with a regular deep sump 7 Qt...
Agree about the low gas excuses I've now found an old school A/C guy who seems to know what he's talking about he's coming on Monday to do his thing hopefully he's the guy for the job the first guy didn't seem to understand the old RV2 systems fingers crossed this guy does .
Thank you! Just what i wanted to hear! I will convert to oil thru pushrods this winter and use a ball/ball pushrod. Down side with full time oiling is the restrictors you have to use. I’m working on a solution to do that without needing to lift the heads to change restrictors or lift the intake...
