Yes. I have some laser welded chromoly samples. It’s nearly 100% penetration on .083 wall chromoly. The handheld laser torch is very cumbersome to use on tubing. Until they get smaller, like a TIG torch, they’re not practical for cage work. They’re great for nearly everything else that’s thin wall.
