    Car Show Gripe/Rant

As a modern Challenger owner, that shouldn’t have happened. I appreciate being allowed in to get-togethers but Classics should always trump.

    Car Show Gripe/Rant

I’ve never had a nice enough car to win any trophies, but the winners are usually not the cars I would have chosen. Most shows have a modern class to prevent what you’re describing, how much needs done to a 6 year old car? I totally appreciate modern hot rod soup ups and modifications, but...

Can someone smarter than me help figure out my projected compression ratio. 383 elcheapador budget build

You will have to know the cc's of the heads to get a calculated compression.

Can someone smarter than me help figure out my projected compression ratio. 383 elcheapador budget build

Without knowing the chamber volume, anything you come up with is just a guess. But assuming the heads are 78cc, you’d be at around 9.0cr. Heads @84cc and it’s more like 8.6cr.

Can someone smarter than me help figure out my projected compression ratio. 383 elcheapador budget build

I use Summit's calculator. You need to cc your heads to get chamber volume. Also need to know your actual head gasket thickness or calculate it both ways to see the variation. I assumed 80cc chamber volume and 0.039 compressed gasket thickness in the calculator below. Says 9.1:1 based on those...

Right there is the main reason why I gave up shows back when I had my 66 Ply Sat. Not what they once were, and even though the new cars are something to enjoy also, it ain't the same as the old muscle is...cr8crshr/Bill :usflag: :usflag: :usflag:

On top of. I mean if it went under, water would just track right into the crack. Overlapping is like a shingle on a house.

I used to question that, but changed my mind. I'm happy to see some new young blood get into the hobby. I have a new respect for those guys in newer LX cars participating in the hobby. Other than awards in how was the show?

Spark plug wire replacement: #1 position?????

Good time to learn about firing order, timing and distributor installation. Do like @Dave6T4 said and pull #1 plug and crank it till it blows pressure out with your finger over the hole. Line up mark on the damper with 0 on the timing tab and #1 is at TDC. If you don't like the rotor location...
