You don't want waterproof as it would trap moisture in. Look for a breathable car cover or at least one that would be water repellant but allow moisture to evaporate out. If the convertible top leaks, then put a small tarp over just that part, and then put a breathable car cover over the whole car.

This is what Howards recommended to me
I have been looking for a WP car cover for my 67 for quite a while. Have bought several but they never fit right or are not WP. Any suggestions? Thanks.
The weight you remove isn't worth the amount of effort. The top of the shock tower is an integral part of the suspension. In fact if the car wheelies a lot that area needs to be reinforced. Mines been running long wheelies for 13 years. Body is still arrow straight. With no inners, mud, rubber...
Rest in peace Bob, you will be missed. I just saw this today and it really saddened me.
Thanks for sharing his PM from September. I work in a technical field as well and those two lines he signed off with are 100% true.
Winter arrives soon so I put my car to sleep. In the meantime I thought about a new torque converter. My current one is stock and is not in harmony with my built engine. My car accelerates like a one-legged dog off the line till 30mph. Power only comes from kickdowns.
It also hasn’t enough...
