Feel around ... you'll feel the plate and then the hole.

Yes you need to get your timing at idle up. Minimum 20-25*. Ill bet you gain gobs of idle vacuum. It will probably fix your rich idle because the PL won’t be open at idle .

Usually just everything in the engine compartment gets hot/brittle and suffers from corrosion. I've never had any problems from the interior and rearward.

How did you size the jets for the promax plates? Did you use a drill index to determine the sizes of the holes in the fixed plates, and convert that to jet sizes? Did you modify anything on the new plates?
