#3 It's been 4 years ago that I did this. There was an interference issue between the base plate and main body. I just remember filing it till it cleared. May have been something in the installation...

Looking at your picture, it appears the Pittman shaft seal is toast. If you don't feel like tackling the seal replacement yourself, get another box. But from Steer and Gear, Firm Feel or Redhead. Heard Lares is another possibility. Don't waste your time and money on any other source for a reman...
