    Car Show Gripe/Rant

I don't think the issue is with buying and enjoying a beautifully restored vintage car...it's with those owners trailering their queens to the prom and fussing over winning trophies on a car they just bought. I knew a guy in high school just like that. Rich kid, bought himself a done mid-60's...

LCA pivot turning while trying to torque lock nut

Yes on the inside. I did it because there's nothing supporting the sleeve in the front.

I managed to drop the trans fluid out of the’58 without making a mess, that may be a first for me. There was a little clutch dust in the pan and some super fine particles stuck to the magnet, but not enough to cause any alarm…

WTB I am in the beginning stage of looking for a 1968 Superbee to purchase.

Having said that, a Bee or an R/T that were optioned with my bucket seats and console would be top notch. But I happen to like the 500 emblem and taillights.

    Current 73-74 Road Runner Values

They are not really expensive cars overall. $30,000 gets you a nice one. Being paint is $15k and a drivetrain rebuild can go to $10k. Getting one in really nice shape is a much better idea. Buying a beat up car for $8k and spending another $40k on it vs. paying $30's for a well done car? Happy...

    Car Show Gripe/Rant

I have to somewhat agree. My time is better spent making a good wage than trying to restore a car that's way outside of my skill set and capabilities/tools/resources. If I had half the skills of the average FBBO member I'd try the building route myself. "A man has to know his limitations" and I...

My 62 is ready for a cruise!

Just an update on my 512 project.... The things that you find out about modifying and replacing factory components with aftermarket items. Source 440 bottom end with the Edelbrock RPM kit and using the Pro Flo 4 fuel injection created an unexplained situation on start up procedures for the...

Maybe the owner broke his *** working for years to be able to pay for something he couldn’t do himself. So maybe he did his hard work to be able to get that car.

    Current 73-74 Road Runner Values

The 73-74 GTX cars are somewhat rare, so expect to pay a little more. There is a pretty big price gap between "drivetrain may or may not work" and beyond general condition, colors, drivetrain and options DO matter so I'm not even going to try. Just start looking. They come on FB Marketplace...

Anybody have knowledge of Gates industrial belts, need an odd belt...

Randy - True to his word, Jack called me back - unfortunately with no success. He contacted everyone he could think of including Gates themselves. The belt is discontinued (which I'm sure you knew) and there is no longer any supply of the rubber profile to even make a custom length belt...
