I've re-read your post because I couldn't initially figure out what you're asking. But I think you're trying to determine whether the oil should shoot out with pressure in a stream as opposed to simply "flow".
Let's first discuss the rockers themselves. HS rockers, compared to other brands, are...
Its for sure a 69 production block by the big E stamped under the bottom, and the 10,000 day calendar date. some early 69 blocks had the complete vin stamped on the machined pad found on the passenger side of the block above the oil pan, while others had the last 8 digits of the vin stamped. It...
My new strange S60 had a whine for the first 500miles after a couple of oil changes it disappeared what gear sets are they using i found Yukon tend to be noisy.
That Summit Racing 6 qt B-body (& E body IIRC) Hemi/B/RB oil pan
you can get either a 3/8" or a 1/2" pick up for it,
it's for all the above BB Hemi & Wedges & can be used on all the above
not sure the same number as listed above, but should work
may want to check your drag link see if it will...
For oil pumps,
High Volume = taller gear rotors
High Pressure = stronger relief spring
A relief spring doesn't even come into play until you hit the relief pressure. So at 20 PSI it doesn't matter what spring you have, the pump is putting out max pressure/volume regardless. With taller rotors...
the E.P.A has killed oil they have taken out the additives that help keep our engines running i use the green oil only for 39 years it has the most zinc that can be used . i have always ran 20w-50 oil also as the oil has more cushion as a heavy oil. now days it is a semi synthetic blend and i...
I'll assume the following; The cam bearing holes are lined up so oil is getting to the shafts. The shafts are installed with the oil holes down in the correct location. The adjuster ball/pushrod cup were the same size. The adjustment/pushrod length is correct allowing the adjuster 2 threads out...
This is what I was thinking, but now that I have my first trap door pan, I don't know how the oil around the pick up may act under hard acceleration. The car carries the wheels up about a whole foot, and then comes down quick, so oil is not always out back.
I mean, with a regular deep sump 7 Qt...
What might be happening here is the additive, a compound containing Zinc, does break down, but the element zinc does not leave, except by what might be found in the filter or at an oil change.
Thank you! Just what i wanted to hear! I will convert to oil thru pushrods this winter and use a ball/ball pushrod. Down side with full time oiling is the restrictors you have to use. I’m working on a solution to do that without needing to lift the heads to change restrictors or lift the intake...
Agree about the low gas excuses I've now found an old school A/C guy who seems to know what he's talking about he's coming on Monday to do his thing hopefully he's the guy for the job the first guy didn't seem to understand the old RV2 systems fingers crossed this guy does .
Bought a chrome 360 oil pan from Speedway that I won't be using. Will fit most Mopars from '62 up from what I understand. New in box never installed. $50 plus the ride.
Also I finally made oil pressure to the rockers, but like I said took a bit. Didn't notice the oil out the water pump until the oil pump ran dry......but that sounds like what it's doing. See what I find later today with pressure test.
I’m currently fixing oil leaks at timing cover and oil pan, I’m thinking while I’m in here I should change the timing chain also. Should I upgrade the cam and if so what would be a good one to use?
Hi, first post here and first older Mopar :)
I have a noise, a ticking/knocking noise when i drive, specially during cruise at around 30-50mph.
What could this be?
I have enough oil in it, 20w50. Sounds harder in the video than in real life, but it resembles that of a lifter problem.
Quiet when...
Hello guys...I think first post. I posted on sweptline.org, but because a 440 thought I would try here. You folks have forgot more than this 77 yr. old guy ever knew. Oil pan capacity/dipstick is the big questions. New to me, 68 Dodge D100 short box stepside, with 440 now. Seller told me...
I couldn't tell where they came from . I have more than enough stuff in my garage I have no idea where it came from !
EPA mandated fuel mileage is the real answer . It why we have recessed door handles and hidden wiper blades . Engineering has been tasked with minute incremental reductions in...
