That is too cool. I wish I was getting there earlier too see this activity . I am afraid I arrive too late in the evening! I don't know how some of the owners can't be *** puckered with the loading and unloading process! I sure was!! LOL And will be when they are off loading a manual 3 speed...
Frankly, that's why all my cars - except this one - have electric fuel pumps. I just don't trust'em. Odd right? Most folks hate electric pumps... but I avoid cheap ones. I think the "low buck" mechanical pump got me here, but we'll see.

Seeing this thread REALLY makes me miss my 98' XJ. I fabricated almost every component on this rig in Colorado, and we drove it when we moved to Texas and then to Oregon. It was rock solid. I would've driven it cross country if I could...
People might be surprised to hear how many of the cars at MCACN are shipped there by Reliable every year. Reliable has an on site coordinator there for the show to manage all their rigs coming in for setup and for loading the cars back on them Monday morning.

The line was actually closed but when the guy monitoring it turned around I snuck in and just said hello and spoke with him for maybe a minute. It was outrageously hot and I didn't want to keep him there any longer.
Yes and worried about the risk of the start-up but at the time of thinking roller or flat I just wanted it to be more of a 60's type of engine... Then I think I might have over thought the new EFI systems as that sure isn't an old school look. Why I worried about an engine that could easily...
I had trouble with vacuum leaks that I thought were at teh corner of the tray. Turns out it was the very upper corner of the head gasket. Not much clamp load in that area. Now during builds a little Ultar Grey is added at the top 1/2" or so of the head gasket surfaces. The first time fixed it...
Metal finished is just basically finished welds. Thats why when the tunnel was welded in, it was welded on both sides to add more thickness before grinding. Surely not a necessity, just looks nicer. Don't be afraid to do the tunnel. It was quite easy. The snount bars can stay in the wheel well...
