I have 205/75/15's for front runners and they can be mounted on 5 inch wheels per manf. specs. The taller sidewall allows it (and fills the wheel well). So you might want to look at a taller ratio tire for the skinny fronts.
Your challenge is going to be finding one radial tire that is offered...
Not 100% sure on the 71-72
but;
They do have a decent size wheel well
needs tires & wheels to fill it out
the std p245/60/15r front a 15x7" to 15x8" 4 to 4-1/2" BS
as long as it will clear tie-rods ends or the inner frame,
inside of the tires at full lock
& p295/50/15r rear a 15x9" with...
...to solve for speed given the same variables. The info you gave me was perfect to estimate how far off the Speedo would be with different tiresizes - replacing stock F14s with the 255/60 15s on it now.
The answer, not much difference at all. So for what I am doing it was what I was looking...
9” section width or tread width?
235 is the tread width
50 - 60 -70 is the aspect ratio. The sidewall height of 50 series is 50% of tread width or. 60 series is 60%, 70 is 70%
Section width is the sidewall bulge on the recommended rim width
There’s all kinds of tire dimension charts on...
Just wondering what the combo's are for a 72 gtx. Going with steel mopar rallye wheels. I was leaning towards 15x6 in the front, 15x7 rear.
In other body styles, I've run a 235/60 up front, or a 225/70. Rears 255/60 or 275/60.
Whatcha running?
Tremec have got a handy calculator online for working out ratios and rear ends / tiresizes. This morning I created this rough comparison for my set up - I want to cruise at about 2,600rpm as that's where the cam will be working, and I usually shift at 5,000rpm at the track.
Whos running 15x6" rims all around? What backspacing are you running and what size tires? I can't seem to get a good answer on rim sizes...I don't want 8" rims and I can't find a good 15x7 with a 4.25 backspace. I don't want to have to worry about rubbing in the rear. I'd like a taller tire...
17" are more expensive, than 15" or even 16"
16" are very limited in tires selections/options
&
*getting a proper sidewall profile of a taller tire, is more difficult with the 17" too
IMO there's almost nothing worse than a rubber band tire
on an older muscle car, looks like :carrot:
Yes it...
275/50-15's both front and rear and running nitto 555r2 tires. They stick like crazy but you have to get used to the delayed turn in response. My steering box is factory and it has some typical slop. It's all muscle car. Nothing real trick about it. Even has 4 wheel drum brakes which are working...
I ran air shocks in the day for tire clearance. Usually about 40-50 psi. This was from 67-71. I also ran 90-100 psi at the strip for bigger slicks. Never a rear cross member problem. Stock ride height originally covered approximately 3/4" of the top of the rims. Personally the look I like is...
Looking to get raised white letter tires to replace my 47 year old tires. After 51 years the bodywork and paint are done and I am getting close to installing the engine and trans which is the last things to do. No way am I going near the road with these tires. The tread width of my G60-14 is 8...
They are out there ... Hercules, Toyo, Hancook and a few others. Just make sure they are "trailer" tires as most in that size range are. You want a tire with at least a 97S rating. Mine are Hancook. 205/75R15 28" tall to go on a 69 B body. These are pretty much the same height as what came on...
