    Mechanical six pack question

The side hung float bowls have way more clearance. The tight fit is the rear carb to center carb clearance. I think they’re Ford bowls if I recall. All 3 carbs have metering blocks & accelerator pumps. The mechanical linkage I had was progressive I think (many years ago)

    Cleaning a white vinyl top.

I would not use Castrol Super Clean anywhere near a car. This stuff is pretty caustic, and will easily spot paint if not used carefully. I was using it to clean a piece of aluminium trim, and it partially dissolved it. Lesson learned. I have used Spray 9 with good success.

    Battery terminal corrosion

How old is the battery? I had a similar problem with the positive terminal until I replaced the battery. Hasn't happened since then.

    Restoring grille

Appreciate this thread. Starting my conversion/restore now. The only thing I’m noticing right now Immediately is that the hood latch release is in a totally different spot, thankfully, because it’s a race car, it doesn’t even apply. Color wise, I went with a recommendation of satin black from...

    Cleaning a white vinyl top.

I was told by my Upholstery guy to never put any oily protectants like Armour-all and the like on the vinyl roof (black) - as it acts like a suntan lotion on the vinyl...eventually baking it. Maybe conditions down under are a bit harsher with more UV floating around....but I always used just...

    Electrical education?

One of my problems is that I'm shade blind. Not quite color blind but bad enough. Yeah, I can trace out circuits but have to mark them so I can keep track....it just takes longer and gets frustrating.

    Battery terminal corrosion

Mixed metals - copper, lead, tinned copper.....and spillages of sulphuric acid all reacting with each other. Don't overfill your cells and keep the battery top clean and dry.

    The Headrest option

On my current '68 RR (Lynch Rd, SPD 2/12/68) someone actually wrote "headrests" on its Broadcast Sheet in large letters. FT info doesn't include a lot of stuff - that's why the cars had Broadcast Sheets taped to them as they traveled along the line.
