for the 69 super bee the tti headers cost 1100.00, Hookers black ceramic coated competition headers are 550 plus 60 for the reducers. I know the tti's would fit very well, has anyone installed the hookers on a 69 bee 440? hooker number 5903-3hkr
Remove the torsion bar adjusters, strut rod nuts, pop the knuckles loose at upper ball joint, remove the torsion bar pivot stud nuts. Then tap on the pivot studs with a piece of brass. It'll all come out together.

I thought I was going to have to buy 4 speed pedals for the car,but the car already has them in it! Winning! Today I am going to weld the torque arm bracket on the frame and the skid plate on the K frame because the Hemi oil pan is deeper than the 383 this car came with from the factory.
Sounds like the machine shop conned you to get money and doesn't know what they are doing anyway (Competition Specs, pffft). I would remove the shims under the spring cups as you have already found out that it should result in the proper 1.875" IH. The heights don't have to be identical, but...

I think people are their own worst enemy with this problem. They want solid lifter performance from a hydraulic tappet, roller lifter performance from a solid flat tappet; what could possibly go wrong? People "live and die" by the .904 lifter hype. Ignore the need for excessive spring pressures...
I’ve looked through a couple catalogs without success. A sleeve that fits a 18 spline is readily available but no one lists one for a 23 spline which added to the lack of them in catalogs makes me believe there isn’t one.
Not that I take this AI response for 100% accuracy but it’s all I could...
You needed to pay and walk away. Lawyer, you needed to bring a real lawyer. A real lawyer would have cost more than it was worth, unless you shot someone, and in that case, I have one for that too.... You don't go to a gunfight with a knife. Better to go to a knife fight with a gun. Lesson...
