PSA: I have learned over the years if you don’t care for a driver near you. First move is to slow and force them to pass on 2 lane or slow down and follow them from 1/2 mile or more 4 lane. Life is easier not even having to think about them.

There is no wiring in the console for back up lights. All underneath with the switch on the transmission. Unplug the switch and see if the lights go off. If they do then its a switch problem. If they stay on its a wiring problem.

While I’d prefer 1.880-1.900, I wouldn’t jump thru hoops to get it. If you have at least 1.870 with the shim removed you should be okay.
