    8 year old new tires.

When I first bought my 97 truck around 2001, it had Good Years on it. If I let it sit for 3 days, the tires had flat spots and was very noticeable. Not sure if they were the originals or not but they sucked. The BFG's replaced them. I've heard all kinds of horror stories on BFG's but for some...

    8 year old new tires.

No but it wasn't driven all that much in the past several years. The truck in question is a 97 with only 140k miles. Don't think the tires had more than 10k on them. Still looked new when I sold them about a year ago.

    8 year old new tires.

Had a set of BFG's on my 97 diesel that were 20 before pulling them off.....still drove good. They were truck tires with a higher load rating though

What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Messing around in the shop today.....scraped out a older printer/fax machine. Sold some parts last evening. An old drag racer (not older than me though) came from 60 miles away to pick up an 8 3/4 housing, 89 case and 4.10 gears. Going into an altered.

Well that sucks!! Snapped bell housing bolt

Yup, a bottom tap does cut but mostly at the bottom. If the treads are not damaged at the top but say half way down, the bottom tap will be fine. In the 30+ years in machining and even more years of working on cars, I never made the threads worse. Before I go into any thread, I inspect them and...

    Electrical education?

One of my problems is that I'm shade blind. Not quite color blind but bad enough. Yeah, I can trace out circuits but have to mark them so I can keep track....it just takes longer and gets frustrating.

What’s the best rear leaf springs for a 1970 B body

Well, I've 'stacked' my own leaf springs but never had wheel hop with factory stuff. Shocks are important too to control the spring. Can't help you with a store bought spring because I've never bought them....

Well that sucks!! Snapped bell housing bolt

Did you inspect the threads before putting in the cap screws? I like to run a bottom tap into everything before nailing things together....
