Flat spotted bad I would wager. Put max sidewall pressure in them and drive them long enough to get them hot and see if the ride improves. That being said you can use them around town but I sure wouldn't trust them at a higher speed.
Until you are going to use it more leave them on. Long term...
The only way to be confident they won't hit is to measure. That being said I would be surprised if there was an issue on such a small cam. Lots here smarter than me,hopefully they will chime in. @PRHeads spec'd my cam and has forgotten more than I will ever know on camshafts.
While oil plays a role I think there are many available out there that remove that from being the problem. I believe having the lifters checked before running them for correct taper is the single biggest issue.Throw in too much spring pressure on break in and you have a recipe for failure.
I would think this would be in the ballpark and match up well with the rest of your setup.

I also think 1 7/8 headers (or even 1 3/4) will be plenty for what you are doing. You aren't in...
Do you mean roller lifters or rockers? If roller lifters do you mean hydraulic or solid?
What is your budget?
Hyd roller cam and lifters is cheaper than solid roller but still a $1000 not counting valve springs, pushrods, etc.
Those 452 are likely 88-90cc if they have never been cut.
I guess the rest of the combo doesn't matter if this is just a temporary motor. If you have the matched set of lifters with the comp cam I would consider that one to hopefully ease any break in concerns. Sure either would probably like...
Get @PRHeads opinion. He has likely seen a set or two and can at least render his experience. If I were looking to save a few bucks I would consider a cnc ported set of stealth heads.
Spend the extra money. The trick flows are proven and work. Mine needed nothing out of the box and they were checked by the engine builder. $$$ is always a consideration but I would rather know it will work and perform. That is worth something.
The Promaxx may be just fine but is it worth the risk?
Looking for a forward pattern manual valve body for a 727 WITH low band apply. Don't want a reverse pattern and I already have one with no low band apply.
Thanks,
George
Which Edelbrock is on it now? What makes you think you need a new carb?
An Edelbrock 650 AVS or a street demon 625 or 750. The choices are endless so it comes down to what you are familiar with and can tune.
