Green bearings and inner axle seals

It has an o-ring, my guess is it's intended to seal the gear oil in, and anything out.

Green bearings and inner axle seals

I replaced the seals and add some grease to the o-ring on the bearing. Just some extra insurance, doesn't hurt.

Information on the Ibm card for my car

The bottom numbers are 1-80. The sides are rows, from the bottom up, 9-0, the top two rows above 0 are letters. On my 67 card, the top two rows are R and X, however that doesn't mean if a punch is there it represents R or X. For example, your trim is H4Q. The TRIM punches are: Punch at 8, and...

    Heater core replacement

It seems most radiators/cores are aluminum now. I have an 88 S10 I bought a new heater core for it, aluminum, didn't fit very well, not impressed. Learned my lesson. Same truck, new radiator is plastic/aluminum combo. Took original copper/brass radiator to same place. It will out last the...

    Noisy speedometer cable

I wouldn't use WD40 on the cable, just the speedo mechanism. Once freed up, I put a few drips of oil in the small port and work that through.

    Noisy speedometer cable

New cables are garbage, lube original one. Speedo can cause the same sound, from personal experience. Pull it, WD40 the heck out of the mechanism, specifically the sealed up pot metal part, which should have a small hole or port to put WD40. Use the end of an old cable or something that fits...

Mouse proofing for winter storage? There's not a lot of mice here but...

I put an extra cedar 2x4 piece from a swing set in my car and no mice since. No idea why it works. Used up plastic peanut butter jars, put sticky traps inside, have to fold to get in. Remnants of pb is enough to attract, sticky trap can't be pulled out, when caught toss.

LCA pivot turning while trying to torque lock nut

Yes on the inside. I did it because there's nothing supporting the sleeve in the front.

LCA pivot turning while trying to torque lock nut

On my 67 I also cut a hole in the k-frame in order to weld the front of the LCA pivot shaft to the k-frame, it's only welded to the k-frame on the rear, and you cannot weld the front from the outside. Maybe if you cut the pivot shaft opening wider, making sure not to mess up the shaft sleeves...

    B-body lock ferrule install?

I needed these for my 62, impossible to find. After a generic ebay search I found later Ram truck ones that were identical, 'nos,' and dirt cheap. Maybe other years/models are the same as yours.

    Manual to power steering??

Yes, 62 has slant 6 K and a V8 K. The V8 K has the same steel mounts bolted to the K, but different biscuits and engine mounts for the 318 vs bb. Not sure on this, but the 318 poly shares the same timing chain water pump housing combo deal, as well as the oil pan, of the later small blocks...

Non computer controlled RWD with best gas mileage ? Car and truck

I bought an 88 S10 from a farm field sale. 2.8 V6 5 speed. Iirc, first year of 'computer controlled.' Has a throttle body, a few sensors, nothing major. Great reliable fuel friendly transportation. I saw an Aspen wagon with the OD 4 speed that would be nice.

    440 source heads

I got the dual spring heads on a bored 383, less expensive than rebuilding the 915s I was going to use, lighter, iirc flow better. I ran it with an RPM intake for a bit, no complaints.
