    NXCoupe's Shop Build

Today, I went to Menards and picked up 3 gallons of paint and stuff for putting up 4 shelves. 300 bucks. Sheesh. There were other odds and ends, screws, hot tamales for my wife, etc, but still. I put another coat of paint on while Neil started on the shelving in the engine room. After he got...

I've been busy. Since the bottom fell out of our weather, it caught me off guard. I taped and mudded the seams, one of them was pretty wide, so I filled it before putting the tape on. It took about a week to dry. Finally got them lightly scuffed and put the topcoat of mud on. I sanded it...

New B body leaf springs, which vendor?

Well, I see a lot of folks saying Espo, but they have discontinued leaf springs for everything but the light duty 5 leaf springs for B and E bodies. Shame.

    Can’t believe it’s mine.

I would rethink putting anyone in a seat with a rollbar in front of them high speed impacts will not be absorbed by foam. If you aren't racing it, just cut the darn thing out. I am an overprotective dad. Car looks great, seems like a really good deal.

    Car Show Gripe/Rant

I can't go to car shows, I don't have any stuffed animals or knee socks. Just kidding. It's funny, when I was 18, I went to car shows religiously, and now, I just don't see the point or lack the interest, I guess. I do go to cruise ins or cars n coffee, just to be around other car people...

Went the fastest I have ever gone this past weekend

So an update. I went to a track rental today, weather was warm, but it was mostly cloudy with a constant 15 to 20 mph wind. I found out quickly they only prepped up to the 1/8. Car started wagging its tail at 150 or so, and I let out of it on all three passes. I was able to stay in it longer on...

Got both bottom sections hung after some drama. I set the sheet up against the wall and of course the concrete is wavy which caused the bottom edge to bend out a bit and I trimmed it off with a blade later on. The big deal was I wanted to use one sheet to cover the 6x6 instead of cutting a thin...

    NXCoupe's Shop Build

Yesterday evening, my friends and a neighbor came over and we got the top of the walls hung. Looks really good. I went out today and sanded the corner and then spread the finish coat on. It took some finesse, but I got it pretty good. Getting better with each seam! Going back out to hang...

You can see to the left of that we started the next section of wall and got it inserted and ready for mud. We had to do 2 sections and I gapped it so we could cover the 6x6 with one sheet of drywall and a stud would be there for the edge on the wall, it offsets it all about 6.5".

It's time for an update. We had some fairly good weather the past couple weeks up til Sunday, so I got out and sanded, then put the final coat of mud on the seems up top. I also put the thick mud in the corner with tape, which works great. I am lucky I have a friend who was a former student that...
