Personally I would find someone parting out a 4dr so post a Parts Wanted ad and you could probably get nice OEM stuff cheaper... Especially the dash harness.
Yeah, the block really needs to be checked. The one picture in #20 of the piston tells me it had a blank high dome machined for the valve clearance. It was raced.
Not a dumb question. M&H brand which used be from year one only. Harnesses as per pnora plus and optional ones like A/C etc…
If it was me I’d look for descent used ones unless you’re doing some concours resto or something. Main harness is pricey, around $800 usd. Be about 1500 cdn shipped...

Exactly! Chicom pickers and engine stands have little safety margin. Don’t compromise the structure by jury rigging it. Those straps can probably support 1000 lbs in tension. The fact that your picker failed on a 318 should be cause for pause and reflection!
