The factory sunroof made up for it! The original 69 Daytona prototype didn't have the window plug either. The second known 70 Daytona,also had no window plug.

That looks OK. I sold my sunroof roof a few years ago, but there was remnants of similar material on mine. It's affixed to the outside (IIRC)) of the moving assembly, possibly with glue.
