No, a Rotex Style Turret Punch.
Good call. The interweb is a wonderful thing.
However Cranky inquired as to what it did, not what it is.
I have no F@cking clue.
That piece is fairly customizable. I made mine on the fly. I originally needed to support it on the bottom of the oil pan while I assembled the clutch, bell housing and tranny.
I then cut the support legs down afterwards a bit to support it from the tranny. Right now the overall height is 12"...
Great idea but I have to question the adjustability of the set up. Pretty static top and bottom. What happens if you're off by .5" or more?
How do you adjust the drive train or car?
Sorry, just noticed your "wise ***" comment. I'm getting slower these days. :BangHead:
Built mine off of Beekeeper's design and material list for about $250. Even with the mods.
When all you have is a hammer, everything is a nail. If you have a welder everything is whatever the **** you want it to be.
I think USCT fucked up in not realizing that most people that build cars know...
Good choice. Be careful with it. I have the 1/2" Fuel. Bolt breaking ************* and I don't mean breaking loose.
Setting 2 when tightening things is around 300 pounds. Setting 3 breaks ****. The bigger the battery in it the better.
I think 8stack pretty much answered that question in post #9. No such thing as too much wiring. Looking good.
I'm fiberglass bat fan myself for the reasons stated above. My shop is R19 in the walls and R60 in the ceiling. I'm in Colorado where it get's to 100 degrees in the summer and 10 below...
I use a rechargeable LED headlamp for working on the cars. Love it. I have been slowly replacing everything at the compound with LEDs since the price for them came way down.
I'm an old guy and I love them.
I must admit I am a member of the Red Army. I have a bank of 6 chargers in the shop with a range of battery sizes to supply all the tools.
You can't go wrong with them in my opinion.
SCORE!
Nice acquisition. Vices are one of my vices. I have five mounted throughout the shop.
Vices are kind of like beer which is another vice. You can never have too many!
Probably the single most used tool in my shop.
