He says it's not spring loaded. So doesn't that make it a defrost switch? The convert switch is spring loaded. The top stops when you let go of it.

Can you show the tag, you either have some wrong codes there. Or a Lynch road tag so we need to see where they are placed.
L2 X9 is I terir trim code for low level black vinyl bench seat
TX9 is for paint. One of three parts of the car depending on where on the tag it is located.
Grind and bend a wrench to fit. Remove the brake hose from the wheel cylinder first, install brakehose after cylinder is installed. More room to get at the bolts this way. Too much BS to remove backing plate.
This has been done how many multiple thousands of times on these cars. 1962-1969...
Not the sway bar, lower core support or the center of front bumper, many good parts ruined from this activity.
