Fuel economy was very important to me when I built my Charger. It was one of the reasons I stayed with the 3.23 gears. The other reason was the first two gears of my transmission are lower than 1st gear of a 727. The 5R45RFE (truck trans) that I have is not as desirable as the NAG1 which has a...
For sure you need to have the master cylinder cover on and secure before pushing the pedal down. I guess you already learned that. As for the the distribution block, I believe a distribution block is just that. It supplies the same pressure to the front and back. A proportioning valve has an...
Here is my story and some of the reasons why.........
I grew tired of spending time on the computer trying to find gas stations every 100 miles that had the premium unleaded gas. 2012 I jumped through all those hoops to make the trip to the Nationals. I got stiffed at 3 different stops paying...
I believe it is a 67 also. However, if you do a lot of night time driving, you may want to get a comparable LED bulb that will last longer and not melt your lens from excess heat.
This pair was on a 75 440 that was in a 70 Challenger I bought years ago. Not sure if they were original to that engine or not. I have another pair but they are the 1978 taller ones.
Pm me if interested. $60.00 plus shipping.
You are entitled to your opinion like the rest of us of course. I agree that not all upgrades are for the better however, I believe I am in the majority that think the discs are an improvement. Most of us believe replacing a single pot master with a dual bowl is much safer also but you can...
Unless it is a 100 point trailer queen show car, I would not hesitate to upgrade to a dual master. I had one of them fail on me once. It cost me a complete front end. With body work and paint over 2 grand and that was many years ago. I realize there are many other things that can go wrong but...
I went through the same learning curve with my 68 Charger. Glad you got it all straightened out in short order. Good Job!
A lot of people think a booster is a booster and don't realize that discs require almost double the boost as drums.
I think you would be happy with the Firm Feel set-up. They copied the factory mounting method from the E body. I have heard some whining about drilling holes in the frame rail but it does not weaken anything since the self tapping bolt fills the hole completely. IMO, it is the hands down winner...
Dave, Just to clairfy the difference between "sprung" and "unsprung" weight. The Firm Feel bar mounted to the frame is actually Sprung weight. (meaning that weight is added to the body and therefore handled by the springs) The bracket mounted to the axle plate actually adds to the Unsprung...
I don't know about the Addco underslung bar but the Firm Feel bar should not interfere with the exhaust. I have the dual 2.5" on my 68 Charger with no possible interference
May have been a one owner car before the shivvy guy that re-built it. He was unaware of the under hood paint scheme. Had no idea where the penta star belonged so glue it to the tail light lens. Questionable aftermarket booster and master but that aggravating exhaust whistle was the most painful...
Disc brakes are an upgrade along with the rear bar. I used the Firm Feel 3/4" rear bar with my stock front sway bar. As hunt2elk said it was a great improvement in handling. There are a couple benefits for the Firm Feel bar in that it is mounted like the factory mounted them on E body cars. Up...
I have spare parts for all three of my old cars. I call them insurance policies. Knowing my luck, I will never need the them since everything that fails seems to be the parts I don't have. However, the spare parts I do have gives me that feel good sensation.
I used to watch those Red Green 1/2 hour stints years ago. They have not been on around here for quite some time. I know he retired years ago but was a funny guy. Lots-a-time spent at the Possum Lodge using his favorite tool. (duct tape)
I have heard the newer orange boxes have a high failure rate. I don't have any newer ones so no real info on them but I do suspect a lot of the complaints are due to the installer not verifying a good case ground. I have seen a ton of complaints on this site and I believe most are due to...
