To each his own....I see this early Charger as different in a way that doesn't appeal to me.
I prefer keeping my early Chargers looking as original as possible and thus maintaining the already cool look.
Ah....guess I have Maxine's cousin here in VA. Mine is A/T and originally black / red from factory. My favorite combination, hope you get lots of enjoyment. I've owned mine for 32 years.
The piece slides in on top of the instrument bezel and is held in place with bezel attaching screws. It's easy not to put it back in its proper place, but that is not recommended....the plate stiffens the plastic cluster housing to keep it from deforming.
I so glad to see another first generation Dodge Charger adopted. Looks like it has gone to a good home.
I own a 66 383/AT, AC , a 67 383/ 4 speed, A/C and an awesome 67 440/4 speed. All factory equipped as stated.
Lots of thumbs up. FYI, you may have become addicted to these cool underrated...
Is it possible that the right side mirror was dealer installed? If you have the build sheet, that will show whether is was or wasn't factory installed.
I have installed passenger side mirrors on my 65 and 66 Barracudas and my 66 and 67 Chargers.
One thing I've found is that the driver side and passenger do not sit at the same measured spot on the door. As stated by another post, it's best to sit in the drivers seat and have a helper position...
HI there...would you be interested parting with your old one? If so, I need to know if the studs are missing or whether they are broken off in the mounting and how bad the crack is and it's location.
A picture would be helpful....most used mouldings would be better than the one I have.
Thanks, Pat
WTB a driver quality rear deck lid moulding for my 67 Charger. My current one has serious pitting. I know there are repos available, but I'd like to find an original replacement one with less pitting.
Shot in the dark I know....most are trash after 54 years, but thought I'd give it a try.
Thanks
For 66 Chargers, an AM/FM radio was available but only as a dealer installed item. Not available as a factory installed radio.
If the fender tag is available, the # 1 or #2 under "R" would indicate which AM radio was factory installed. A 421 radio was cheaper and produced less output wattage...
From what I was able to learn, the Precision WCR DB 3586 gasket is manufactured by Steele and sold under the Precision label.
I have one coming with a YearOne label made by Steele. Some sources say Steele is the only manufacturer of the 66-67 Charger rear window gasket.
In the end, if it fits...
Hi...chatted with Precision and Steele and here's what I found out:
Steele via online chat w/"Paul"= Steele has only one rear window gasket available for 67 Charger. Paul didn't have a clue why factory parts book list different part numbers for vinyl vs non-vinyl.
I ask Paul: Do you supply this...
So I understand 67 Chargers with vinyl tops use a different rear window gasket. Does anybody know if that rare bird option gasket is reproduced or will it work with a vinyl top anyway?
I know my 66 Barracuda with vinyl top required a unique unattainable front windshield gasket but, with no other...
Looking to buy a repo rear window gasket for my 67 Charger. Any suggestions for a source?
Precision seems available from several vendors, but looking for feedback before pulling the trigger.
Thanks in advance
