Yes. Just like the diagram suggested. Red wire from dist. plus 12v switch which is brown wire(crank power) and Blue wire (run power)

I I only have a test light. But yes I get power to + coil during both crank and run position.

Now do your volt readings on positive side of coil 1. Crank / Start 2. Ignition switch run position
