Road trips: They highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the car.

It took me 6 weeks on my small block haha. I was waiting on stuff but it was still a genuine 2 full weekends, so 4 days. I was probably a whole afternoon draining coolant, removing radiator, removing grille, removing intake manifold, balancer, waterpump, timing cover, etc, cleaning all the old...

LemonWedge doesn’t need no stinking CHANGES! And HEMI goodness at TnT season opener.

Got the season started tonight with a quick Wednesday night TnT session, and it was an interesting one. I had the feeling at the end of last year the the car was running just a little on the lean side. Added an AFR guage over the off season, but the Bosch sensor went out after only a minute or...

My new 71 SSP! Any advice accepted!

Hello everyone! Some may remember me as I’ve been around stalking looking for a 71-72 satellite or roadrunner. Well one came up and I jumped on it! This thing runs and drives and looks great! Sadly has some frame issues I’ll show in pics. I would love to hear everyone’s thoughts on repair...

    Lowering with Leaf Spring Hangers

I made my own lowering blocks.... out of 1 1/2x2 1/2 solid billet 6061, with a tool steel pin. No complaints. But yes, you might need an angled shim to get the pinion angle you want.

    Racing in Colorado?

Yep. I'm not familiar with Northern California, but we lost AAA Fontana a year or so ago. If you include Famoso as southern california, we have four tracks, one of which (ten minutes from my house) that we can't use. (Pomona). Barona, 1/8, San Diego area, Irwindale, 1/ 8, L.A. area, and Famoso...

Road trips: They highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the car.

If I didn't degree the cam or have A/C to recharge, if the cam was a hydraulic.....Yeah, I figure 3-4 hours is possible.

Street car, race car, truck, motorhome, what??? Like saying I bought a 750cfm carb. what do I do with it? You want suggestions? -...

NEW here, with a Road Runner!

Welcome. And she looks as if she deserves some loving. It's certainly the right year. Car of the year for 1969. And that says alot being I believe 1969 was the US best automotive design year in history. But that of course is a whole other debate topic. Lol.

    70 440gtx.. is 14.5-14.7 volts at 2000rpm+ normal?

Thanks ! the volts i listed are from a decent quality volt meter, not the gtx dash gauges. my volt meter isn't calibrated, but has been reasonably accurate and reliable for some years. (used it for 15 yrs or so roadracing, on dirt bikes, etc)

727 is acting up... short 1-2 shift and won't part throttle kickdown

After the VB checkup and band adjustment, was the transmission sealed up really good with RTV? I mostly try to avoid the stuff. Bits of it find their way into the oil and goof up the valves. I suspect that some got into the governor. That might account for the changed shift points.

    Disaster, almost

Made it out to Milan this afternoon. Pretty windy. Track prep was great. Had to tighten the front shocks up full tight to keep from 60 ft on the rear wheels.
