-Crack is on the top "rail" where the valve cover sets.
-It's on the outside/downhill side/ exhaust side...directly above the siamese part of the center exhaust ports.
-Crack runs vertical...straight down and then into one exhaust port.
-Extends into the port about 3/8 inch.
It never...
I have a Comp mechanical street roller cam that I am considering using in my build. My dad has a lot of AMC stuff including a box of new roller lifters. AMC same as Mopar in every way...some of his AMC lifters are actually Mopar part numbers.
So, these lifters, that he'll give me, are...
Have posted questions about my engine build..thanks to those who responded...now on to the converter??
street car--STREET CAR.
-512" (4.25 crank) with original Max Wedge top end
-fairly large hydraulic street cam (255degrees exhaust @ .050)
-3:91 gear with tall tire (28-29") so it's more...
Anyone know where I can get one? Usually distributed by Mancini...they're backorded, no promise date. I'd buy a greasy, torn one......wanting one soon. Thanks much
now that's funny..."mex wedge" uhm....MAX wedge please(fat fingers)
I recently bought an abandoned project, a 4.15 stroker. It's supposedly the first series 440Source kit from many, many years ago.
It has "Cat" rods. I see Cat stuff on the internet. It's low priced like ProComp stuff.
440 Source still sells that rod as a budget hi-perf rod ($299). At...
Ross 4.280
0 deck
15cc dish
mopar pin
These were $1000 buckaroos when ordered.
With a milled 906 might work for pump gas.
With a real closed chamber would come out around 9-10:1, perfect.
They are scuffed on the skirts...shouldn't really effect much...you decide.
Get that old 413 out and...
Building a max wedge setup...286 heads, xram, wedgie exhaust manifolds...etc.....already have the stuff, good condition.
From what I can determine the heads flow about 290-300cfm...the xram even a little less.
I have some "displacement choices" to make......................
1-426, have...
I just cc'd my 286's and they are 94-98cc. This car I bought also has -15cc dished pistons.........anyway it all comes out to about 8.3:1 compression...WOW-stand back!LOL
The cam that's in it is 255degree @ .050. No wonder this thing is a turd.
ALL THAT being said. Is there a cam that...
I'm trying to budget my time and set a schedule here...
Can you swap a torque converter in a '65 by just sliding the trans back? (leaving headers on, linkage on...etc?)
My car has Dougs headers, if that matters.
Thanks all.
-Do the breathers go on the front near radiator, or near the firewall?
-Did they change the orientation from year to year?
-Some photos show a PCV fitting, what year did that occur?
I've looked at many photos and can't draw a conclusion....some are front, some back, some pcv's...
1 - Installing old cast stands on shaft and, pow, split in two pieces (looked like old crack...they are also really galled from overtightening)
Surely there must be something better. Mopar performance has some machined stands and then there's some on Ebay from Billet Racing Parts our of...
Putting 1965 Satellite back together.
The dash insert, gauge surround, bezel (I don't know what to call it) is originally black. Mine was newly rechromed so the whole thing is real pretty and new and....entirely chrome. So I need to mask and shoot the center panel.
What degree of gloss...
Putting original AM back in '65 Satellite.
1965 Motors Manual says plug wires into back side of fuse block in various places...no more info than that (I'm sure they presume that I'm the guy that unplugged them.)
Radio has had wires cut so no help there.
The diagrams I see on the...
My 65 Satellite had a 318, now a 426. I'm wanting to raise the front end up a fair amount for the superstock/old school look.
Do the small block bars usually have enough tension to do that...or do I need bigger bars?
I'd just go out and crank them up and try except that the car is tore...
I got a new hoodscoop with this '65 Sat I just
bought.
It's either a generic Mopar style or the '68 A body hemi scoop.
It looks alot like the '65 superstock (as oppossed to the big hemi scoop or the max-wedge "dual" look). Not to big, just gives things an"attitude" IMO.
One difference...
Hi all, I'm new to Mopar but have basic drag race/hotrodding background in brand x.
Car-65 Sat, 727, stock or mild converter, 3.55 gear.
This is a STREET car...must idle, must not stumble, must feel like a Cummins when I even tap the gas pedal. I don't care if it winds over 5000 rpm.
It...
I can't find a repop dashpad for 65 Satellite listed by anyone.
Only these B body pads are offered: 64-65 Dodge and 64 Plymouth.
One place did some talking and research and they think that the above pads will actually fit a 65 Plymouth.....they just may not have the same grain, stitching, or...
So I just got this 65 Satellite and I will need a bunch of seals, windlace, gaskets, do-dads. I Googled and found too many suppliers to count.
Some may be hobby businesses that are good ....others may never ship your stuff. Some may be huge warehouses with unknown quality. (I seem to be...
