Tried to add second vehicle to my Hagerty classic car insurance but ran into a little hitch-now require fotos of both vehicles in a fully enclosed garage.
And I quote: "We do require secure, enclosed storage for vehicles to qualify with Hagerty, so we'll need to confirm that both vehicles are...
Driving to my 52 year high school reunion in Salinas, CA (where this 1992 Jeep Cherokee XJ I am driving was first sold). Leaving from La Paz, BCS, Mexico this morning with 235,373 miles on the odometer. Just arrived tonight at Guerrero Negro, BCS, Mexico with 235, 876 miles on odometer. Doing...
Need to find something around here I can use to hook up old school timing light which is without the spring adaptor that went from the spark plug to the spark plug wire so a spot would be available for the timing light. Thank you for any ingenuous ideas.
I would rather not use the Lokar-style kick down setup. I prefer to re-use the factory 318 kick down linkage because I just like the way its setup (photo #1).
I transferred all the '72 318 linkage to '72/'73 340 intake manifold and that is fine. However, the Thermoquad doesn't exactly match the...
I thought I installed a Mopar flex plate to a torque convertor one time where the bolts had to go in a certain pattern (could have been '65 year model). Now I am about to install a 340 to replace the 318 in my '72 Satellite and I'm not sure if the flex plate bolts up to the torque convertor only...
The "Hodge Podge" 340 I purchased in Sacramento some years ago now has new rings and bearings and is ready to drop into the engine bay of our '72 Satellite Sebring Plus: see photo #1 (once a hodge podge always a hodge podge which explains the "paint scheme" which is all over the map).
Anyone...
Now that I have a DIY timing tape on the 340 and a pre-oil tool, does anyone know where the cams needs to stop per crank degrees to send oil to each bank of of rocker shafts? Just trying to avoid unnecessary stops as I rotate the crankshaft to send oil to the lifters and valves. Thank you.

Do the facctory 1968 340 exhaust manifolds use the same two studs on the extreme ends (with four other bolts) like the 318 or are the studs eliminated by using six bolts? Thank you.
About to install a 340 to replace the 318 in our '72 Satellite Sebring Plus. May start it up using the Carter two-barrel and install the thermo-quad later. I have an AEM air/fuel ration gauge collecting dust on the shelf I would like to use (model 30-4110. I would like to know somehow who has...
The 318 is all loose and ready to remove. My only question now is whether to pull it jacked up like it is (so I could disconnect the torque convertor) or bring it back down on it's tires again?
I realize either option will require me to find some way or other to support the automatic...
While removing the water pump on our '72 Satellite Sebring Plus I heard something drop to the ground. I picked up a "H" shaped spacer (see it in the middle of the bolts). I don't know if that was a factory spacer or added from a previous owner. The problem is, I did not see from which...
After installing the timing cover, water pump, and harmonic balancer on this rebuild 340 project, the engine now rotates with extreme difficulty over 90 degrees of rotation. At first, i squirted VD-40 in the spark plug holes believing maybe one cylinder was a little dry, put that attempt...
Back in the '70's I used aluminum retainers on my 273 small block bracket racer ('65 Valiant) with an Isky solid 1012B/C camshaft 312 advertised duration and .580 lift with the recommended dual springs with damper. Never had a problem with aluminum retainers. Just curious if they have completed...
"You Shouldn't Be Using Q-Tips in Your Ears. Here's How to Clean Your Ears the Right Way"
Mom used to dry out/clean our ear canals with Q-tips back in the '60's and I still use 'em for that. I don't see a problem with 'em if you are careful.
