This is a fun place to visit. I used to hang out at FABO but not so much since I bought my Coronet a few years ago.
Lots of good info here... I don't listen to all of it but that's ok.
I'm a low buck guy so there's that... saw enough of million dollar rides when I used to haul them that they...
Ok... so I understand many of you have been Mopar guys ( and gals) for years.
Some are more recent converts having seen the light after years of wandering aimlessly thru your automotive past seeking the true meaning of pure mechanical pleasure.
Some, (gasp!), may even have come from the camps...
Sooo.... today was the day I had some help from my step son and grandson.
I have a rolling steel bench that I built years ago that I use for assembly, mockup, welding etc.
Today I was going to set the 318 on it cradled in a wooden shipping cradle and set it on the bench just so it wpuld be...
Ok... so I need to buy a new brake line flaring tool since the ine I had owned for 50 suddenly learned how to run away from home.
I had the standard sngle/double flare deal that was used since the days of the ark.
How do these new fangled hyd tools work? I'm not buying a SnapOn set like I did...
I have a small shop crane that I bought 40 years ago and has served me well. But it does not have an extendable boom so dropping in an engine over a Mopar radiator support is tough.
I found all sorts of used deals but this one was a good deal @ $75...
Needs paint but I like it.
Man I hate to waste money on parts that are still good!
And how about this master cylinder? Should clean after a couple hours with the sand blaster....
Look what is on the lift!!!!
After a couple years waiting it's turn it is safely inside and getting some well deserved attention.
On the agenda this weekend is doing some brake repair, swapping exhaust manifolds and, maybe, installing the clutch and flywheel.
I will have to see how much oomph...
After so many starts and stops on this car I will finally get this thing back on track in the next week.
Got the $100 318 ready... just need to swap ex manifolds with some 5.2 truck units.
Got to find a different shop crane that will allow the engine to be raised over the rad support... my...
I need to modify my stock auto crossmember to use my 833 trans.
I had the pix and specs for the modification but lost that info when my old phone died.
Anybody have what I need?
Thanks.

Soooo...
Back in 1987 I was headed to do some dirt track racing with my modified during Speed Week.
I left home with a spare engine, transmission, rear gears, suspension parts ... damn near everything except a floor jack.
No Horrible Freight stores back then. I couldn't afford a Hein Werner...
