Brand new, never installed, in the box 26-inch radiator from Classic Industries/US Radiator for 70-72 B/E body. Purchased in 2023. Retails now for slightly over $700. This is for manual transmission only. It is part number MD2290S. if you need more information, check out the Classics web page...
Thanks to everyone who made suggestions on my 71 440 4 speed electrical issue in April and May. Car would start up and run perfectly as it has for many years. Then, after driving it for 15 minutes and turning it off, it would not start again for several hours. At that point, it would start right...
Thanks for all of the comments since my last post a week or two ago. But the problem persists. Quick recap: Car starts cold perfectly, runs very well, idles fine, drives without any issues whatsoever. Get to destination and turn off the car; wait 10 minutes; the car will not start again. It just...
Car is a 1971 stock 440 with Chrysler electronic ignition and Edelbrock carb installed many years ago. Has been running and starting fine for years, until a few days ago. Starts up perfectly, can drive it around no issues. But after only 10-15 minutes if you turn it off, it will not restart...
Looking for the correct light bulb that goes with the air grabber and defrost switches under the dash Roadrunner or Charger (1971-1972). Hard to make out the number of the bulb; maybe 1842?
Here are a couple of photos, and thanks!
Good morning:
Replacing the ancient trunk weather strip in my 1971 RT. Not sure if the weather strip along the side goes one way or the other. In picture 1, it is laying flat and should work fine. In picture 2 the weather strip is tall and will likely work, too. I think picture 1 is the right...
Anyone have a photograph of under the dash that reveals where the wiring goes for the air grabber light and solenoid? There is a three terminal orange female connector under there and I wonder if that is for some of these wires? Same question for the rear window defroster switch.
Thanks!
Anyone have a photo, from the top looking down, of an an original master cylinder cover (lid) on a 71 B-body they can share? Power brake unit. This one is a Charger RT. Thanks!
Looking for a picture of the clip/washer that secures the heater control temperature cable to the control unit. Non-A/C car. Probably the same on all the early 70s B bodies. It's just a push on type of attachment. There is a washer or clip that secures it to the unit. This is at the driver's...
Many of the 440 HP Chargers I have seen in 1971 have the radiator upper hose outlet on the passenger side of the radiator. A few have it on the left (driver's) side. Anyone know why they used 2 different ones? My right side upper outlet is a 959 radiator. Is the 960 radiator used for the left...
Anyone done this lately? Wondering if I have to remove the instrument cluster face plate (Rallye cluster) to get to the screws, or can it be removed from under the dash without doing that? Non-AC car.
Thanks.
Anyone remember what size this bulb is? It's smaller than the 1156/1157 and bigger than the 57. Trying to find one at the local auto parts store...thanks
1971 Charger with fender mounted turn signal indicators. At night only with the headlamps on, the indicators on both fenders stay lit all the time--the solid yellow light. If I turn the signal switch on, they blink just fine as designed. But they do not go off afterwards. The solid light at the...
I took my 1971 RT to a local body shop to install two new passenger door hinges (upper and lower) to help my slightly sagging door. They suggested I also replace the striker and I said fine. They picked up a pack of 2 strikers at a local auto parts store. They fixed the passenger door just fine...
Did the 1971-1972 Roadrunner/Charger air grabber cars come with the 440 Magnum or 440 Super Commando pie tin plates?
Or was it just an orange air cleaner lid with a small air filter decal?
Thanks!
There is a D-shaped black plastic clip that goes just above the junction box on the firewall in the engine compartment of most 1971 B bodies, including the Charger RT. It holds some of the engine wiring harness. It plugs into a hole in the firewall. It looks a lot like the O-shaped clips that go...
