Standard bore 440 block - 1969 model year HP motor
Needs to go overbored, standard bore right now though.
$1200 OBO, but trades for a 440, any year, standard bore and honeable to use standard bore pistons preferred
Will ship on your dime, or pickup in Chicagoland area
So, finally got to honing a cylinder on this 440 block to examine condition through all the surface rust. Can't get some of this rust, and looks as if there's a very noticeable ridge a little down a 1/4 inch from the deck. Assuming this needs to go to machine shop? Mostly worries about rings not...
As title says, anyone have the old direct connection builds for the 440s, where they list the bracket ET and then the parts? I have the one here for the B Engines someone sent to me
Thanks,
Paul
Hi, with the failure of the 383 block, now im looking for a 440, open to anything with a good block for the right price.
Don't want to spend money to ship across the country, and also would like to inspect so please only offers close by ish to the Chicagoland Area.
Thanks,
Paul
Well, title kinda says it, soaked cylinders in MMO for 2 days now, getting impatient as I want to get the ball rolling and the block off to machine shop soon. You guys know how long they take, so sooner out sooner back, and all 8 pistons are in it frozen. Tried air hammer on both sides of the...
Well, despite all better judgements in me for building a small block stroker or a 440 I snapped on a complete aside from carb 1970 383 magnum out of a 1970 roadrunner. Hey, it was 300$ and it was a impulse buy what can I say. Thing still has oil in it and "ran when pulled". Haven't even put a...
Crosspost from FABO, sorry if not allowed or if you've already read it
have a 71 340 that's in need of a rebuild, I'm just unsure and kind of worried about doing it myself. It has already been freshly rebuilt, but the guy who last did it mixed and matched parts, it has 30 over stock replacement...
So, I've been chasing when I can on my time off my shifter linkage issue, where it sticks when trying to shift 2nd to 3rd. I've tried readjusting per the hurst shifter, even with the specialty tool to no avail. I still have this lip on 3rd, I think this might be related to it not wanting to...
hi, installing the microswitch and this linkage is blocking the mounting. Looks like remnants of a choke linkage, it doesn't do anything or touch anything, just rotates with the throttle. I don't have a choke, am I good to remove it to allow mounting of my microswitch?

so I took a borescope finally and looked in my cylinders, and I found out my pistons in my mopar 340 are something 2385F - with my cylinder head size being 65cc, should put me square at 8.5 to 1 compression. I can't believe someone would put such a piston into a 71 motor, but that all beats me...
Been looking around for center sections to give my 340 all the help it can get gear multiplication for torque, and stumbled upon this. Only thing about it, it looks like it has a bit of surface rust on it? Should I be worried about something like the amount of rust on this, or should I send it...
Does anyone know a couple of the codes that weren't able to be read by the tag decoder? Specifically, GB7 is listed twice, and the decoder just repeats exterior color. Is it supposed to be one of the GB7 is the interior color?
Also, is it just coincidence or why does it look like there is a F...
So, with my new advent of the desire to fit a big block mopar, and realizing that it would solve some of my gearing issues with torque, I'm looking at a pretty barebones setup but that'll be stout from a 440
Also, i guess the best way to get stuff done effectively is to plan ahead, want to be...
So, I need a couple things to tidy up my car's appearance that are apparently hell to find
a 71 plymouth BENCH seat 4 speed shifter boot for the pistol grip shifter, bezel would also be nice but I can find that easy enough
A 71 plymouth b body side marker light, passenger side. Why is a 2x4...
Would like a set of bias ply slicks, 26 inch tall and around 10 inch wide on a 15 inch wheel.
Used is ok, just need some life on them to see how it runs.
Also, 27 inch tall 15 inch frontrunners, also bias ply would be nice
Has anyone ran 15 x 10s on their 71 roadrunner and can it be done, if so what backspacing is needed?
Stock length 8 3/4
Also, what backspacing should I run for frontrunner wheels? Thinking 15 x 4.5 but unsure of bs needed.
Thanks,
Paul
Hi, I'd like to lower my car about half to 1 inch inches, the stance right now looks kind of weird in my opinion with such a short tire, 295/50 but I can't really go to taller tires because of close ratio a833 trans and 3.55s, any taller and my mild ish 340 is slow off the line
Will I run into...
