Been having no luck with aftermarket distributors for my la 360 I built for my 74. I started out with the Summit ready to run billet distributor an exact replica of the MSD but at a cheaper price. Had three bite the dust in less than a 100 miles. I have used a few of these on some of my other...
My 74 being a low mileage car has the original alternator on it. I installed some Edelbrock heads on it and was able to modify the brackets so it would fit. It works fine but wanted to upgrade to a one wire. The problem I am running into is the new alternators housings are deeper in depth by...
I have a real nice running stock 73 340 and want to upgrade the ignition system. I bought a Summit ready to run one and had 2 fail on me with less than a 100 miles on them. I have in a my Ford 390 street cruiser for over two years with no issues and I like the performance and ease of tuning...
I just installed a Quick Performance Truetrac in my 74. I see Doctor Diff no longer carries them for the 8 3/4 due to reliability issues. I have installed these in a few Fords and never had an issue. Maybe I should have went with the suregrip. Has anybody had issues with them.
Installing new bearings and seals on my 8 3/4 rear end. I ordered a complete kit and the problem I am have is the outer axle seal provided is to big for the adjuster nut. It fit fine in the other one. The one I removed from the adjuster was just a rubber seal with no metal housing. and I can't...
Thinking of adding this 73 rallye hood to my 74. I know it's not correct for my 74 and might catch some flack for it but I am running a Ed rpm air gap on a 360 and it fits barely without a carb spacer. I tried a 1/2" and it rubs the insulation. A one inch would be ideal to balance out the flow...
Finished up My 360 rebuild in the 74. Now I just need to get rid the the 8 1/4 2.75 gear. I have a 8 3/4 out of a 73 charger I plan to install with a 3.23 truetrac from Quick Performance. I thought about the 3.55 but want to keep it under 3000 rpm at highway speeds.
Will a Edelbrock RPM-Air gap intake fit under the hood on a 74 Charger. It looks to sit higher than the performer. I have a bulge hood if needed but that means paint and my car has the original paint.
Just picked up a 73 with a 340 in it on the cheap. It has me kind of confused. The vin and fender tag indicate it came with a 400. It has a second tag with the letter H on it. Motor looks to be untouched with factory exhaust in place. As old as these cars are who knows what someone did.
Thank you for the add. My name is Don, USN retired. I have a 74 Charger spring special. All original other than the wheels. She only has 60k documented miles on her. I look forward to meeting new Mopar fans. I have been restoring classic's for over 45 years as a hobby. i like all makes and...
