DSD1967,
What you describe is pretty much what I have, except for the metal bulge hood o my 74 charger. I went with 1.06 TB from Firmfeel. The car handles great. I stroked my 440 to a 505 with aluminum everything, 655 hp at the crank, 684 torque. I also have boxed in LCAs, tubular uppers...
Hey Markmine,
I went with the 1.06 TBs to upgrade my 74 Charger that I just redid. i had the exact same problem and it was me. I installed them just as you describe and the care was on the gorund with no turn left in the adjusting screws. After talking with Dick at FF, al I needed to do was...
Fellow Mopar Enthusiasts,
My alternator is not charging. Just redid the wiring harness and everything works fine, except the alternator. when I check the battery, it show 12.25 volts when its running, where it should be jumping up to 13.5 ish, correct? So, I replaced the new alternator with...
Rusty, I am the king of screwing things up, but somehow I'm almost done with this muther! I stroked the 440 to a 505 and it dyno'd on the stand at 655 hp with 684 torque. I didn't try to get here, but it just took on a life of it's own. Either way, I like how the hole in the cap idea, as long...
Since you seem to be the guru, and this is my first rebuild, I have another question for you: what is the best way to vent my gas tank. Here is a little background: I have a 440 and when I got it, it had a fuel line and what I assume was a vent line returning to the tank. It also had a second...
I changed the ignition switch, tested it for shorts, worked fine, so I buttoned everything up. Now the steering isn't as smooth as it was an there is rubbing sound, think its the lock plate rubbing on the ignition switch housing. Everything went together fine, but it seems the steering shaft...
FYI, I solved my own problem, the springs came from within the broken ignition switch that I removed. It fell apart when I removed it, thus the electrical short it was causing and the springs came from within.
Can anyone tell me where the 3 small springs go in the ignition housing. I am replacing the ignition switch and when I removed the bearing housing and the lock plate, I found 3 small springs on the floor and I didn't see where they came from. The manual I have does not reference the springs...
Thanks everyone for the responses! I am recruiting some help and hopefully will have it running soon. Basko in Gilbert built the motor and I installed it. We dyno'd it on the stand, before I put it back in so start-up should not be an issue. Now It's just my small brain and all those wires...
This is my first rodeo and I have been flying by the seat of my pants. I didn't do a whole lot of planning, just jumped in and learned some lessons along the way. However, I am almost there, but I am lost when it comes to wiring. All I need to do is replace the damaged wires, and I can turn...
