It's funny how my circumstances have changed since I purchased the car. Back then I had the time, but not the income. However, now I have the income but not the time.
But, the car is sitting in a nice dry shop just waiting for attention.
Also, I've edited the main post a little to make it a...
Several years ago I bought a 1971 Super Bee off of another forum user with intention to restore it.
https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/71-383-3-spd-super-bee-project.42311/
While I have made some (very little) progress, I've decided that it's time for me to turn the old Bee...
They don't call it the rust belt for nothing, but the car was a Detroit car; which made it worse.
But I'm due a decent amount on my tax return, I'll probably end up buying a couple parts for the car.
The car doesn't look too bad from the pictures given, I don't think it's a $10,000 car but it's nice enough. If the car doesn't have too many trouble spots and was in good enough shape to be driven; I'd probably offer about $7,500 as a fair price.
However, the no title is another issue. It's...
I'm being offered a 3.23:1 sure grip diff for $100, yay or nay; should I take it?
I'm not in NEED of it any time soon on my Super Bee rebuild, but I'm not sure if this is a good deal or not. It's a bit of a limited time offer sort of situation here, guy who has it needs money asap.
WM23 referred me here, I have a full canopy vinyl trim set for a '72 Charger, it's only missing one of the quarter window trim. I'll try to get a picture of the trim asap, a friend of mine has the car and is supposed to take the trim off for me.
If I had the money I would have had the car completely blasted first, but this way will work fine. We're aware of most of the rust areas, and the areas around what has rotted away are still nice and solid; like someone had done some rust removal on the car at one point. Despite having a huge...
Thanks, and believe me, I'm very excited that the project is finally rolling. Can't wait to get her out of the body shop and start tackling the mechanicals myself.
I'm probably going to stick with the black and silver paint scheme, the car was original gold; but I'm not sure I like gold too...
Well, hopefully it won't take too long to replace all the rot.
It's not fully welded in right now, it's just tacked in place. They're working with the pan, firewall sections, hinge pillar and rocker panel areas. They're fabricating some new panels, and using parts off of my '72, I think...
I think Bruzilla is right, it's probably the shroud. I don't have a whole lot of experience with mopars, but I've had Chevy's in which cooling was a problem without a shroud.
Start with the basics, consider buying a shroud and checking your fan blades to make sure they've still got the right...
Today I come bearing pictures!!!
I've included previously uploaded pictures of the car before I bought it from Detmatt1 for progress reference.
These guys are the only guys who'd work with me and my low rate of income, but these guys are classic car guys and they like to help out people...
Finally found a body shop that would do rust repair on my '71 Super Bee, they had good references from mopar people and was willing to work around my low level income and I delivered my Super Bee to them last Monday!
It'll probably be very slow going because I don't have the income to throw...
I contacted AMD about shipping and this is the email I got in response.
"Thanks for getting back to me. Honestly, I can’t really do anything with shipping. This item is too large to ship via Fedex, UPS or USPS. The only option we have for shipping this item is truck freight. Truck freight...
