    Thanks for the several responses. My answer to all suggestions is yes I have checked those, with the exception of the "too long pushrod". I'll try loosening the rocker shaft bolts about 1 turn and see what happens.

    Low speed overheat

    I have a stock '72 400ci in a '66 Satellite. I wish to speed up the water pump by changing the pulley ratio. The crank pulley is 7" dia. and the w/p pulley is 6 1/2" dia. I want to decrease w/p dia or increase c/s pulley dia. (2 groove) Advice please.
