I got the pitman arm when I got the power box. I just called O'Reilly's and ordered a power box and arm for a '70 RR. I had read that the pitman arm would need changing too, so I ordered it at the same time. Everything hooked up fine, and I didn't have the clearance problems you had.
I...
Let me tack this on to this thread, because it seems to be a similar problem.
We've got a '70 Road Runner that was manual steering. Pulled the manual box and got an O'Reilly's box that's supposed to be a power box for a '70 RR, also got the pitman arm to go with the box. Hooked everything up...
Yes, the car is wired for the proper dual field alt., but the alt I received from O'Reilly's was wrong. If you do the lookup in their web site, it's still listing the single field alt for a '70. If you put in '72 as the year model, then it brings up the dual field.
Called the parts store, and...
OK, so I ordered an alternator from a local parts house a few months ago. Put the old one in the box as a core and sent it back.
Now I'm finally getting around to putting it on the car and wiring it. This has been a complete restoration and the car has been apart for around 6 years(another...
Thank you, gentlemen. Much easier to find something in boxes of assorted parts when you know what it looks like.
Found 'em in an envelope marked "reveal molding clips". I think the guy was channeling '57 Chevys.
Not high performance in the way you normally would think about it. Just pushing 6000 lbs of car and cargo down the road at 70-80 mph. Pretty sure he doesn't care if the car won't turn 12's.
On a '70 Road Runner(tilt out back quarter windows)there are a couple of trim pieces that run along the side pinch welds to tim out the headliner where it goes on the teeth.
I see that the back of this piece slides under the rear side panel trim and the front has one screw to hold it up. Are...
Customer came by today to check on the car. OK'd an electric pump and then wanted to pay his bill up to date. He's going in the hospital tomorrow for a round of chemo and said, "just in case I don't come out". Getting old(and cancer) sucks.
Now, I've got a choice of 35 gallons an hour or 97...
I pulled the dipstick and it looks like the customer changed the oil while he was changing the fuel pump. By the look of the oil it's never actually run with this oil in it. There was also a receipt for oil and a filter in the trunk with the old fuel pump in the new pump box.
I'm guessing the...
Yeah, we were trying to pump gas out of a can with a hose hooked up to the pump. The owner is the original owner and he wants to keep it stock if possible. I'm afaid if it flattened the lobe on the cam that the motor will have to come apart because all that metal had to go somewhere. Can't...
hi.
A customer brought me a '68 Chrysler 300 that won't run. Not getting any gas to the carb.
He and his buddy have already changed out the fuel pump and the carb.
We started out by pulling the tank at his request to see how bad it was. The rubber hose from the sender to the body was rotted...
Anyone have a supplier for taillight lenses for a '70 Road Runner. I found side marker lenses at Year One, but can't find tail light lenses there or at Classic Industries.
