My 72 Satellite has done the same thing several times. In my case it has always been fuel/carb related. Pulled out the idle screws, sprayed some carb cleaner into holes, blew out holes with compressed air. Re-installed idle screws.....problem gone.

Yup... I had been looking for a 72 style PB hood. I may just buy the AMD unit and fill in some of the center vents.

It is kind of humorous that the Charger PB hood was reproduced with 71 style cowl vents. A hood that never existed, was reproduced!

Read that underlined part of my ad to yourself 10 times. Like I said, the 73 PB hood is not for sale. IF you have a 72 PB hood to trade, then we might have reason to discuss further. IF you DO NOT have a 72 PB hood to trade, we have nothing to discuss.

At least we agree on something IF you had bothered to read my ad.....you would have realized that I am looking to buy a 72 PB hood I am not looking to sell anything. If you want a 73 PB hood, there is a nice one on eBay for $1500...

The shitty PUI covers I bought were missing the upper runs, on backside of cover, that the listing wires slide into. Without that upper run, the headrests don't look too good. It was a case where I thought I was buying Legendary covers and the seller shipped me PUI

All I am saying is that both 71 frames and 71 foam are MUCH different than the later years. I don't think that it is a safe assumption to say that you absolutely can use 71 covers because their visual similarity I once started putting the orange and black 71 RR covers on 72 and later frames...

Sure....the 72 foam will go on a 76 frame. But that same 72 foam won't work on a 71 frame. 71 is a much different animal.
